The U.S. Singer Moby Claims The CIA Asked Him To Post About Trump And Russia

Pitchfork: Moby Says CIA Agents Asked Him to Spread the Word About Trump and Russia

“They said, like, ‘Look, you have more of a social media following than any of us do, can you please post some of these things just in a way that… sort of put it out there.’”

Last February, following the Presidential inauguration of Donald Trump, Moby posted on social media claiming to have insider information on connections between the Trump administration and Russia. The producer/DJ said that “after talking to friends in DC,” he had allegedly learned that the Fusion GPS dossier was “100% real” and that the Russian government was “blackmailing” the president. Now, in a new interview with WFPK in Louisville, Kentucky, Moby has doubled down on his claims (as CoS points out).

Talking with WFPK's Kyle Meredith, Moby cited “active and former CIA agents” who were “truly concerned” about Trump’s collusion with Russia. “They were like, ‘This is the Manchurian Candidate, like [Putin] has a Russian agent as the President of the United States,’” he said. “So they passed on some information to me and they said, like, ‘Look, you have more of a social media following than any of us do, can you please post some of these things just in a way that … sort of put it out there.’”

Was The Clinton-Funded Russian Dossier Used To Obtain A FISA Warrant To Spy On The Trump Campaign? Congress Now Knows The Answer

Byron York, Washington Examiner: Yes, Congress has seen Trump-Russia secret court surveillance documents. Now what?

One of the most contentious issues surrounding the Trump dossier is the question of whether the FBI used unverified material from the dossier — a Clinton campaign opposition research product — to apply for permission to spy on Americans. Investigators from both House and Senate have long wanted to see any FISA applications (that is, spying requests filed with the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court) that dealt with the Trump-Russia affair.

Now, they have seen them.

U.S. Senate Democrats Claim Russia Has Been Interfering In Elections For Two Decades

Reuters: Democrats target Russia, Trump in report on election interference

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic U.S. lawmakers called on President Donald Trump’s administration on Wednesday to treat foreign election interference as a national crisis, setting up a single agency to coordinate the response and establishing a new class of sanctions to quickly punish those responsible.

Democrats on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee released a report on Wednesday detailing what they described as nearly two decades of Russian efforts to influence elections elsewhere in Europe, and criticizing Trump for doing too little to address the issue.

Senator Ben Cardin, the committee’s ranking Democrat, commissioned the report after Trump’s surprise November 2016 election victory. The report was released a year after U.S. intelligence agencies concluded that Russia interfered in the campaign to benefit Trump, the Republican candidate, and undermine Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Trump-Russia Dossier Senate Testimony Has Been Released By U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein

CNBC: Senate Democrats just released full testimony on the Trump-Russia dossier. Here's what's in it

* Sen. Dianne Feinstein released the full transcript of Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson's testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
* Simpson touched on a wide array of topics in the 312-page transcript, including President Trump's business ties and his tax history.
* Democrats on the committee said they were not consulted ahead of a decision by Senate Republicans to issue a criminal referral against former British spy and Fusion GPS investigator Christopher Steele.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., on Tuesday released the full transcript from Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson's testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

"The innuendo and misinformation circulating about the transcript are part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice," Feinstein said in a statement. "The only way to set the record straight is to make the transcript public."
