The Warzone/The Drive: The Secret Zuma Spacecraft Could Be Alive And Well Doing Exactly What It Was Intended To

A great way to put an experimental stealthy craft into orbit is to imply that it never even made it there in the first place.

Rumors are swirling about the fate of a top-secret spacecraft, known as Zuma, which Northrop Grumman supposedly built for an unknown U.S. government agency and launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket on Jan. 7, 2018. There are a number of theories about what might have happened already circulating, but a fairly obvious one seems glaringly absent: that the satellite didn't crash at all and that it’s working as planned.

Newseek: China Blasts Own Military For Being Paralyzed by Peace as it Prepares For War

The People’s Liberation Army has criticized its own military personnel for being paralyzed by peace as China ramps up preparations for war.

This week, a PLA Daily report blasted its own soldiers for refusing to face the possibility of war, blaming the recent period of peace for paralyzing the current generation of troops, reported the Global Times, a newspaper produced by the ruling Communist party.

"War is not far from us. Regional situations around China are complex and unstable, and dangers are hiding under the peace. China cannot afford a military failure, so we must be fully aware of potential crisis and be prepared for battle at all times," the official PLA newspaper wrote.

Ex-general says he knows how powerful North Korea's military is

LONDON — A distinguished retired South Korean general warned a U.S. attack on North Korea would be met by well armed soldiers who would fight with religious fervor to defend their homeland.

"I try to explain to the Americans — if we have to go into North Korea, it is not going to be like going into Iraq or Afghanistan. It’s not going to be like toppling (ex-Iraqi President Saddam) Hussein. This would be more like trying to get rid of Allah," said I.-B. Chun, referring to the Arabic word for God.

He was speaking to a group of journalists and North Korea policy experts at a think tank in central London late Wednesday. "I said to my team: Can you imagine what that would look like? King Jong Un and his family is a cult in North Korea."

NYMag: North Korea: Our Nukes Are Aimed Only at United States

All of a sudden, North Korea and South Korea are two old chums singing kumbaya with each other, and the United States is on the outside looking in.

The countries are holding their first talks in two years ahead of the Winter Olympics, which take place in Pyeongchang, South Korea, in February. North Korea has promised to send a delegation to the games, which counts as a major diplomatic breakthrough. (Perhaps even more excitingly, the country will also send “a cheering squad and a performance-art troupe.”)

And Kim Jong-un’s hermetic dictatorship apparently wants to assure the rest of the world that it doesn’t have any serious beef with its southern neighbor — just with America.
